Made in Japan from a kurotomesode, a formal black kimono traditionally worn by married women for important occasions. Pines, cranes and a temple roof in mint, ivory, grey and blush unfold below the hip, preserving the original placement of the artwork.

Approx. US 6–14; body bust up to 40 in. This piece fits smaller than its flowing shape suggests.

No stretch. Measure the fullest part of your upper arm: it must be under 16.5 in / 42 cm for a comfortable fit.

How it wears

Long kaftan with wide three-quarter kimono sleeves, a handkerchief hem and a removable sash. Wear loose or tied. Mid-calf on a 5′7″ model who wears a US medium.
